Racheel's Interests
|
| General | Daydreaming, drawing, writing, classical music, concerts, Japan, learning to read and speak Japanese (and hopefully eventually German), Japanese novels, anime, manga, the mood of any scene, astrology, astronomy, reading, school, old books, old love songs, 1930's romance, city skylines, traveling by train, cuddling under warm blankets, warm baths, relaxing, spacing out, dry humor, language, dancing, lounging around uselessly, enjoying life, nice weather (rain or shine), friendship, family, personal space, listening, silence, soft lights in the darkness, meditation, Fujimi Orchestra, warm fuzzies, stories, adventures, and various other things. | | Music | Classical (with an emphasis on Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Wagner, and Dvorak), music from the 30's and 40's - the 'Singers and Standards,' and 'Big Band and Swing,' - Japanese pop and Enka music, new age, melodic techo and dance music, elevator music, light jazz, smooth jazz, and a variety of music pop from the 1950's to modern. I prefer melodic music and striking lyrics, but it's all about mood, and every mood has a different sound. | | Movies | I don't actually watch movies all that often, but I do enjoy watching romantic comedies and most films that are funny but don't rely too much on base humor. Actually though, I have been watching a lot of film noir lately. Most of the time, if I'm going to watch a movie it's gotta be a classic one. Black and white films are too gorgeous to pass up! | | Television | Hmm...I don't watch TV too often either. | | Books | Oh you know, fantasy and adventure books mostly. I have a special place in my heart for classic children's literature and fairy tales. Those and, heh...well, that's a secret. Currently I'm having a love affair with Dean Koontz, but some of my favorite books are J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan, R. L. Stevenson's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Treasure Island, Rand Miller's Myst series, and Tove Jansson's Moominvalley series. I also enjoy the works of Jules Verne, Lemony Snicket, Anne Rice, Thomas Harris, and P. G. Wodehouse. Also, I admit to having a fondness for Japanese grammar books... | | Heroes | Anyone with the courage to do the things that I cannot.

About me:
I like to learn all about the things that catch my interest, my current interests being primarily classical music and Japanese. I'm an honest person, and I like to be on good terms with others. I don't believe in hurting people unnecessarily, so I like to learn how people work inside so that I can be honest with them without causing conflict.
Just for fair warning, I forget to check myspace for months at a time. So if I don't respond to you um...yeah... sumimasen!

Who I'd like to meet:
Meet? Um...anyone with an unusual way of seeing the world. People who like to learn and are looking for answers to questions about how and why the world works the way it does are certainly interesting to me. Laid back people with sharp minds, people with a good sense of humor and style, and people who are interested in similar things as I am, such as classical music, Japan, art, life and just hanging around and doing nothing in a pleasant way...these are the type of people that I wouldn't mind...well...at least chatting with. If I deny your friends request though, it's not that I don't think you're interesting or anything, it's probably just that I don't think we have all that much in common. A few stats and a 'kewl pic' don't really do it for me.
