Sounds Like"Glasgow’s Miss The Occupier already had a home in my record collection prior to Ladyfest. Last year’s External Male EP is a four-song brace of addictively spiky indie punk filtered through a fuzz pedal haze. With her bright pink bob and apparently effortless glamour, Roz Davies looked every inch the British rock heroine we always seem to complain we don’t have enough of. Chris thinks their songs sound a bit like Sonic Youth’s, and we both agree that’s a good thing." Ladyfest Manchester, November 2008, www.wearsthetrousers.com

"Scarce and other three piece geometric pop scuzzers are called to mind, Ms Roz's singing and bass propelling the short and sweet numbers like a hovercraft through the Everglades, croc snapping at the air as they pass." 13th Note Cafe website

"The songs blast Sister-era Sonic Youth through ace girl group melodies... it's basically off centre pop music with sharp, muscular angles. And it's sexy as ---- to boot." Stewart Gardiner, Plan B magazine

"With vibrant red hair to match the surrounding decor, Miss The Occupier have in Roz Davies a striking front person - a punk princess. Spiky pop blasts at us with every synchronized pressing of foot pedals, magnus matching Roz's bass with powerful guitar whilst Derek thrashes with controlled destruction behind..."Mark Connelly, Is This Music? magazine

"The high velocity pop punk sound of the band is propelled and enhanced by Roz's bass guitar, used to optimum impact with her foot pedal. Think Yeah Yeah Yeahs meets Shirley Manson. " Katy Whitelaw, Live Music Direct

"Lovely, double sided 7 vinyl action, I like these moments. Miss The Occupier give us a blast of noisy, 3 minute, Sonic-y punk. Very satisfying." Tasty Fanzine

"This is the first release from the already mighty Miss The Occupier, those snarling pop starlets who are making alt-rock look really, really cool again... There's a feline seductiveness in Roz's vocals, which play off the calm narrative lyricism of Magnus perfectly..." Stewart Gardiner, Is This Music? magazine

"As Miss The Occupier began their set, I was strangely captivated by their style - a mix of The Pixies and The Fall, with a bit of how Elastica should have been thrown in for good measure... Highlights of the set were Girlfriend Go Crazy and Short Sight, with Roz and guitarist Magnus performing a manic question and answer between each other which was fantastic to hear and see. If youre out in Glasgow and looking for something entertainingly different, keep an eye out for Miss the Occupier." Alaine, Live Music Direct

"Their heavily Sonic Youth-influenced yin matches their Britpop yang - like a raw Sleeper crossed with a placid Siouxsie and the Banshees - perfectly and with tracks like 'Girlfriend Go Crazy' in their arsenal, they're on the verge of great things. " Culture Deluxe April 2007

"Miss The Occupier, led by captivating frontwoman, Roz Davies, who was resplendent in a matching pink hair and dress combination, delivered a fantastic set of raw, sexy, angular pop. Highlights included the hook-laden "All Night", which in an ideal world would be number one until the end of time. Commanding the stage and no doubt the gaze of every male in the venue, Roz possessed all the qualities of an outstanding frontwomen in the Karen O/ Siouxie Sioux mould." Martin Young, T Break May 2007

   About Miss The Occupier

My profile was customized using the Taming the Beast.net MySpace Layout Generator

Miss The Occupier have been touring about, supporting Bis, The Fall, and The Grates, and playing with a cascade of great local bands all over Glasgow and Scotland. The first release came in 2006 with a split seven inch with FreezerBurn on Skribble Records, followed by the External Male EP in 2007.

The first full length album RECOVERY POSITION is available now via download from: iTunes, TuneTribe, Oxfam Music, eMusic, Napster, HMV, Tiscali Music Downloads, Sonicselector, MSN, MTV Digital Download Centre

"Miss the Occupier are an indie-punk three-piece who take angular guitar riffs, fuzz them up until they're a suitably deafening din, and set them alongside the sardonic musings of singer Roz Davies. It's like being stomped in the face by The Fall's stroppy younger sister, and enjoying it just a little bit too much for your own good." The Herald
