Missy Brodrick is a singer/songwriter/guitarist from Long Island, NY. She writes original, adult contemporary music that combines passionate, sophisticated vocals with strong melodies and emotionally charged lyrics.
Ms. Brodrick has been writing songs for about two years now and although she has been performing live for only a short period of time, her avid love of performance and entrepreneurial spirit have already made her a familiar face on the music scenes of both Long Island, NY as well as in Columbus, OH..In addition to drawing a crowd wherever she performs, she is also drawing attention and great reviews from the media including airplay on several local and internet radio stations such as Indie Artist Radio, Radio Crystal Blue, and Long Island Sounds.
Missy attended Oberlin College for one year before attending Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio where she hosted her own eclectic radio show.
Missy has always pursued music and though she had become an accomplished competitive saxophonist at a young age, her first love has always been voice. She brought herself up on the New York punk and ska scene starting at age 11. During this time you could almost always find her at a show jumping up on stage to sing her heart out with some new band or another. Seeing those musicians onstage, as well as others at the Jones Beach Amphitheatre in Wantagh, NY, moved her to want to create music of her own. Missy loves just about all genres of music and incorporates many into her own. Those who know her will say, and it is evident in her music that Missy's passion for singing is one of a kind and has always been a force in her life. She always puts her heart and soul into her music and strives to make each song as meaningful and honest as she can.
We all have worked hard towards our dreams in 2008 … always remember, it is NOT easy, but it is not IMPOSSIBLE!!!
