MissYucki is an organically evolving character based narrative, art, design project and brand
conceived by Alba Poretti and Kathleen Cameron.
The MissYucki project has taken its core inspiration from experiences based on the magic and mayhem of Johannesburg South Africa.
Johannesburg is our home and starting point and from this focus we explore African folklore, contemporary urban curiosities,
the world of pageantry and add to the mix experiences from our innumerable travels.
The world of MissYucki is populated with many characters including; the muti monsters, magic shopping carts and a host of pageant princesses.
Using a range of mediums; including illustration, character design, accessory design, doll making and of course story telling
we create scenes and themes from the MissYucki mythology as well as fashion accessories and novelties inspired by the characters story.
MissYuckis' work is created in limited editions, usually by order and the bulk of the work is carefully hand crafted.
As a result of this MissYucki creations and artifacts are both rare and collectible.
They are not mass produced items but rather unique and detailed art pieces, objects of desire and curious, wondrous luxuries.
Movies
Alba and Kat narrate the story of MissYucki, and her adventures in South Africa through various visual mediums. Often times stories are accompanied by poems or snippets which shed light on the inner city mayhem of Johannesburg.
After almost three years of being a band, we've finally knuckled down
to release an album. To celebrate this momentous occasion we're throwing three parties. It would be nice to have you there.
