  • Bio

I am a beat maker currently living in Charlotte, North Carolina. That's been my home for 3 years now. I'm from the DC metro area. Born in Arlington, bred in Manassas, VA. Lived in New Carrollton (PG County), MD for a while. Then finally relocated to Charlotte, NC. I am also of West African decent. My family is from Freetown, Sierra Leone. My mother grew up on Pademba RD in the central part of Freetown. My father grew up in the area of Big Warf on Fisher ST in downtown Freetown. I also have two older sisters and who are both happily married with children. For those who don't know, hip hop is my passion and my life. I make all of my beats of the MPC 2000xl, hooked up to my turntables and BR1180 10 track digital recorder/mixer. I'm a sample base phanatic yet I consider myself to be the African version of Pete Rock, Jay Dilla and 9th wonder because I use lots of records from Nigeria, & Sierra Leone where my people are from, but I also mess with other genres to give listeners a variety. I also love sampling classical roots raggae and chopping it up to the point where it almost sounds original, which is what I do with all of my records. As far as colabarating, I was able to get track into the hands of Shaba Ranks with the help of a friend named Big Diamond in Boston. The track was also called "So Much Trouble", which featured Krumb Snatcher, Kao Denero, and his cousin Super Laj. I didn't make any money off of it, but I was glad to have the opportunity to have Shabba and Krumb on a track although I never met them. Thanks to the help of Big Diamond and Kao Denero, I was able to sent it up Philly at Kao's address, and they went to his manager, Olivers house in Long Island to lay down the track. If that song was a big hit, it probably would've helped get my feet wet. When I'm not doing music, I love to sufft the net, rent DVd's, hit the clubs every once and while and travel. I love to travel. I've been to England, Sierra Leone three times, Ghana, Spain, Barbados, and France. Countries I would like to visit is Nigeria, Gambia, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, and all over Africa. I'd also like to visit Jamaica, The Virgin Islands, Trinidad, Hati, Asia, Russia, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Amersterdam. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. src="http://beatswagger.com/forums/userbanner.swf?u=1848&username=olatunjimason&beats=7"
