..Mister Chill'R Thanks "Computer Music" Magazine..
The Pleasure is Ours
Computer Music Magazine
June 2009
This is a HUGE thank-you for the very complimentary review of my song, Grand Beat, in the Reader Music section of the April issue. My co-producer, mixer, studio and mastering engineer, and general all-around musical genius, Planewalker (AKA Brennan Murphy), pointed out that there wasn’t even one word of constructive criticism in the review. We’ve been polishing our halos ever since. It’s really super to know that we’re doing things properly and that the quality of the results are recognized and applauded by your peers.

..Computer Music Reviews Grand Beat..
Computer Music, one of the leading British music magazines, had this to say about Mister Chill'R's song, Grand Beat, from his album, Lunar Lounge:
"The vibe of Grand Beat is all about effects. The opening piano wafts off into the distance in a wash of ambient echo. In fact, the relationship of the warm reverb with the bright twinkling delay is very good indeed. And the bass, with its eighth-note stereo echo, rolls the track along nicely.
The incoming ride cymbal adds to the spangling curtain of sound, while the lo-res rim-shot pattern brings a welcome edge. The kick and clap are both contained in the massive piano reverb, but the slow tempo and spacious patterns mean that things don't descend into an unlistenable mess. A haunting pad adds depth to the piano melody, too.
It's a simple but effective arrangement that's been well mixed--it jumps out of the speakers with a desire to be heard, but is chilled out at the same time. Congratulations on that."
The review is found in the Reader Music section, Issue 137, April 2009, p. 45. The song, Grand Beat, is on the accompanying cover DVD.
Needless to say, Mister Chill'R is totally blown away by this wonderful review. His co-producer, mixer, studio and mastering engineer, and general all-around musical genius, Planewalker (AKA Brennan Murphey), pointed out that there wasn't a word of constructive criticism in the review, so Mister Chill'R and Planewalker must be doing something right. To have one's efforts recognized and applauded by one's peers, is very rewarding. Mister Chill'R and Planewalker have been polishing their halos ever since. And, the dynamic duo are polishing something else. Planewalker and Mister Chill'R are busy in their respective home studios working on songs for Mister Chill'R's forthcoming ambient album. As soon as a couple of them are behaving themselves properly, you will get a chance to listen to them. Mister Chill'R "Lunar Lounge" Receives Reviews, Airplay and Blog Listings

About Mister Chill'R and His Previous Releases
Mister Chill'R is a computer musician, composer, arranger and producer, who creates chillout, downtempo, and ambient electronica. Using Ableton's Live, Sony's ACID and Sound Forge, he crafts songs using loops, samples, MIDI files and a host of software plugins in his home studio in the Pacific Northwest. As a software music production student at the famous Spun Academy in Portland, Oregon, Mister Chill'R is honing and enhancing his knowledge and skills at the feet of the world famous psytrance master, Epsylon (A.K.A. Brennan Murphey: metakinetics.com). Not only is Epsylon his primo pedagogue, but also his music production partner who produces, mixes and masters Mister Chill'R's songs and albums. He ain't too shabby a graphics artist either. The results of his artistic handiwork you see here.
No newcomer to the computer music scene, Mister Chill'R has been at it for over 20 years, starting out on a little Apple Macintosh. Along the way he taught himself music notation and theory, composition and arranging, audio and MIDI sequencing and editing. He has composed many songs over the years and with Epsylon's talented help, Mister
Chill'R released his first album, "Alien Unfolding" in 2007. These songs are still available as singles or as a continuous mix on all the popular music download sites, or as a CD. To purchase a CD, go to misterchill-r.com for a list of online CD merchants.
Fear not! More chillout, downtempo and ambient songs are in the production process.
So Stay Tuned!
Mister Chill'R shouts out a huge "Thank You" to the lovely and talented Domanique who created this MySpace page, his Web site: misterchill-r.com and the superb artwork on his new album, "Lunar Lounge." Without her and Epsylon's help, Mister Chill'R would not have been able to present his songs to the world.
Yours in music and FUN, Mister Chill'R
