I come from South East London, and everything here is usually crap, like most London suburbs. My music is mainly influenced by Johnny Cash, Bright Eyes, Ryan Adams and Bob Dylan, along with a whole bunch of other things on the way, including Pete Doherty, Tom Waits and Diamanda Galas.
I've been writing since I was 14, and usually write about four or five full songs a week, and then I'll try and put music to them, and then I'll put them aside if I don't like them, and work on them later.
I've been playing guitar since February the forth, 2004, and do my best to improve at every moment possible, though it gets to a point where things don't improve, they just expand within their means, but I see this as a form of growth, and that can't be bad.
Sometimes my influences bleed heavily into my music, to the point where I'll steal lines and so forth, but as Dylan once said "imitation is the sincerest form of admiration", and if that's good enough for him, it's good enough for me... Though that phrase is a little too close to Dodgy...
My own music is usually a little depressing and downbeat, but I make no apologies for that, there are some who say that if you share your misery, the person listening will feel fifty percent of it, but if you share your happiness they will gain all one hundred percent of it, but fifty is good enough for me, besides, who deserves to be so happy if one is miserable. My music isn't a fair example of my social character, but I guess it must say a few things about the feelings closed behind these barn doors.
