OK so maybe those quotes haven't been published yet, but obviously they will all come true... eventually. What is true is that the band Mr. K has an interesting story.
After the "tragic" breakup of Point 23, Chris Hansen(Guitar) sought to form a new band with new people, and new ideas. He did not know where to turn, so he did what any good school boy would do... he went to class.
He specifically went to his Jazz Band class. There, little did he know, right under his very ears were all the people he needed. He would eventually recruit August Berger(Bass), Jon Buchberg(Drums), and Ben Hahn(Piano) from this class.
As for the singer department, Joey Silver, a non-Jazz child was brought in to sing. (Jazz is an instrumental group)
The band name was inspired by the very class that 4 of the 5 members came from. And that is because the teacher of this class, was none other than Mr. K. It was only appropriate to honor their amazing, fabulous teacher by stealing his name for their band.
