There's Hip-Hop and then there's Mister Who ! Drawing on musical influences ranging from Public Enemy, Outkast, Fourtet, Bjork, and Radiohead, Mister Who's sound subverts the notion that Hip-hop has to be formulaic to remain accessible. He is currently working on his debut album 'Be Home Before Dark'.
Mister Who is an mc/songwriter/producer who started out MC’ing over drum n bass alongside DJ and producer Matrix (Metro recordings, Virus). In 2005 he started his own record label Dual Amp Recordings, with fellow artist Unique Hastings to showcase their own unique hip-hop sound. Since then Mister Who has worked with Morcheeba for their forthcoming album, Groove Armada, Matrix and his collaboration with 10 Rapid (burrito records) for the track 'Run' is currently tearing up the breakbeat scene and has been playlisted on Anne Nightingale's Radio 1 show. He has also produced the soundtrack for the short film 'Shantelle Town' which was recently shortlisted for the Raindance Film Festival in which he played a cameo role. (See Shantelltown.co.uk).
Furthermore he was asked to support the legendary De La Soul for their one off Oxjam gig at UEA, Norwich on November 2nd '06.
The double single ‘Oceans’/ 'Speech Therapy' and the Matrix remix is the first release from the album and received critical acclaim across the urban and dance press and has been featured as the Staff favourites on the Itunes homepage.
He is currently planning a nationwide tour with label partner Unique Hastings.
The double single 'Oceans' / 'Speech Therapy' is now available on Itunes accompanied by the groundbreaking video which is being played on MTV Base , Channel U and Bubblehits.
