Having played guitar since age 8, and influenced heavily by masters of the instrument, Mr.Will is a musician who has travelled the world and played guitar and djembe to the highest level in many different musical settings. Mr.Will has been a headline feature at the Spectrums of Sound show for the last 3 years at the Victoria Hall Hanley, and on return from an Africa tour was musician and percussionist for the Street Dreams show at the Regent Theatre in May 2008.
With an English father and Filipino mother, Mr.Will was exposed to vastly different cultures at an early age, and seeing them work together as part of his everyday life was something he sees as crucial to his style of music and approach to performances which entertain, educate and inspire all audience members.
Mr.Will has trained in the Gambia, under Guinean masters on the Balafon, djembe and dun duns and has performed in a variety of settings playing both West African percussion and Samba where he worked with Bosco De Oliveria to produce original samba pieces in the English language. Mr.Will is currently working on an album of original compositions that bring together the West African percussion and music of the UK to produce a new sound that is unique, yet has very strong roots.
In addition to performance, Mr.Will is the current lead artist and Project Director of Planet Sound Community Arts and has over 10 years experience in the art of making music accessible to all members of the community regardless of age or ability, through his workshops and structured longer term programmes.
Mr.Will says "Every day is a new challenge and things just seem to get better and better! Who knows what tommorow can bring if we just allow ourselves to be open to the opportunities "
CHARITY ACOUSTIC NIGHT hosted by trentvalepoet in aid of a young lady called Olivia, who has recently undergone a serious operation to remove a cancerous tumour, which has had a successful outcome. Olivia is however still undergoing treatment and the night is to say well done Olivia and family :) and to raise some funds to improve the quality of life for Olivia 23rd October this Friday at Oggy's Bar Lichfield Street Hanley 8 30 start, come to participate or spectate all welcome.
