MISTICIA, the Colombian metal band, was created by Diego R. Cruz, former guitarist of Anima y Battle, in Soacha, Colombia, at the end of 1999.
Other band members are Hernan Martinez, currently also performing with Aardvarks and Centaurus-A, and former guitarist of Atavi, as well as Alejandro Barbosa, ex-drummer of Battle.
In the same year of foundation, the band's first songs were composed which have later been made into their first Single: "Welcome to Utopia".
Later, in 2001, the singer Angel of Ethereal joined the band, which then decided to travel to Germany to record their first major work. Nevertheless, once in Germany, the band experienced a recess that lasted almost two years with the result that two members left the band. In 2003, Guido Meyer de Voltaire, half Bolivian half German by nationality, joined the band as new lead singer. He also works with the German band Aardvarks.
Misticia recorded its first Single-Mcd "Welcome to Utopia" in the STONEHENGE STUDIOS in the year 2003 in Bonn, Germany. The musicians taking part in that production include Patrick Schroeder, drummer of Centaurus-A, and Rafael Calman (bass).
Traditional South American music leaves its footprints in Misticia's first Single. Such themes can also be found in "Sickness of the Earth", Misticia's longer work.

Comé maltinha, prontos para mais um tema do nosso 1º EP "SEMENTES DA DESORDEM"?
Já podem escutar o revisitado tema "BAR DA GNR", tema nº 2 do EP e que precede às "GUITARRAS DE GUERRA". Este tema já com alguns anitos lavou a cara e foi gravado no inicio de 2009 com novos arranjos, mantendo no entanto todo o carisma que vez dele um dos hinos dos ERVAS DANINHAS. Durante 20 dias, mais ou menos, vão poder entrar no "BAR DA GNR" e buer uma cervejola e morfar uma entremeada e até mesmo apanhar uma carraspana sem ficarem de cana... Dêm gás no volume e acordem os vizinhos... pelo menos aqueles que dormem a sesta ao Domingo à tarde. O "BAR DA GNR" contou com a presença de dois convidados muito especiais, foram eles o Igor e o Arroja dos SHIVERS, que por entre copos de binho e assaltos à sacristia ainda tiveram tempo para uma ida à Sela... ops, desculpem o erro... uma ida à cela.
