About me:

Greetings from Southern Illinois! I'm a Christan author/freelance writer with over 10 years experience. I'm editor of the Coffee Break for Writers e-zine, author of two books (published under Misti Jackson), and over 150 of my articles have appeared in local, regional and national publications, both in print and online.

The thing I enjoy most about my writing career is not only the writing, but helping other people. I write with the hope that my words will help, inspire and entertain all, and I don't mind devoting a little extra time to help other writers in need. When I'm able, I volunteer in my local community to help with charity events and fundraisers. All of my volunteer work makes me feel good about myself and allows me to give back to my community and others. God blessed me with the talent I have, and because he gave me the talent to write, I feel I should give back to others when I can.

One project I'm proud to say I was a part of in 2005 is the "Stories of Strength" anthology -- lead by Jenna Glatzer. I donated an essay entitled "Behind Closed Doors," and I also helped with the promotion and many other aspects of the project. 100% of the profits from the anthology goes toward disaster relief efforts.

In October of 1998 I met a wonderful man (Kevin Sandefur), and on June 26, 2004 we married and became one. Kevin is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and he is not only a loving, faithful husband, but he's also a loving father and stepfather. I feel very blessed to have him in my life; I couldn't have asked God for anything more.

I am the mother of three children and two stepchildren. children tell me they're my biggest fans, and I think that's so sweet. The support of my three children, my husband and my fans are what keeps me writing more and more each day.
