Mist is the vehicle of melancholic songs by Dutch singer-songwriter Rick Treffers. The albums We Should Have Been Stars (2003), Dangerous Words (2004, EP) and Bye Bye (2005) were all released by Spanish record label Astro Discos. Mist played in Spain, Argentina, Chili, Mexico, Germany, Holland, Norway, USA and France. In 2006 and 2007, Mist made Mist:Period, an album released on-line. This downloadable album will be available on an old-fashioned cd in 2008, with the addition of some new tracks and remixes. The name of the album will be simply Period.
Mist hails from Amsterdam and was actually founded in 1997 under the name of Miss Universe (before that, Ivar Vermeulen and Rick Treffers already played in a band called Girlfriend Misery). In 2002, Miss Universe had to change its name under pressure of Miss World, the American beauty pageants organization.
