New Year's Resolutions & Intentions?! Here are a few quotes by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale for Motivation
One of the greatest moments in anybody's developing experience is when he no longer tries to hide from himself but determines to get acquainted with himself as he really is.
Believe in yourself. Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers, you cannot be successful or happy.
If you expect the best, you will be the best. Learn to use one of the most powerful laws in this world;change your mental habits to belief instead of disbelief. Learn to expect, not to doubt. In so doing, you bring everything into the realm of possibility.
The way to happiness:keep your heart free from hate, your mind from worry. Live simply, expect little, give much. Fill your life with love. Scatter sunshine. Forget self, think of others. Do as you would be done by. Try this for a week and you will be surprised.
“We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day.” Edith Lovejoy Pierce (1904) Have a beautiful New Year 2010 ~my dear la, Mis!
Life, I AM the new year. I am an unspoiled page in your book of experiences. I am your next chance at the art of living. I am your opportunity to practice what you have learned about life during the last twelve months. All that you sought and didn't find is hidden in me, waiting for you to search it out with more determination. All the good that you tried for and didn't achieve is mine to grant when you have fewer conflicting desires. All that you dreamed but didn't dare to do, all that you hoped but did not will, all the faith that you claimed but did not have --these slumber lightly, waiting to be awakened by the touch of a strong purpose. I am your door to walk through. We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves and create the world we want to see. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day. I AM the new year. -- Author Unknown
For last year's words belong to last year's language and next year's words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning....
And now let us welcome the New Year full of things that have never been... "Rainer Maria Rilke"
There are years that ask questions and years that answer... "Zora Neale Hurston"
Be the change you want to see in the world... "Gandhi"
With the New Year just hours away, I believe now is the time to set our intentions in the right... direction. It is now' that we need to realize that "We" and "WE" alone are the changes that need to be made.
There is nothing on the outside that is going to change unpleasent circumstances until we make the choice to "Be The Change" we want to see happen, in our personal Life, and in the Whole World...
The expression "Love is Blind" holds much significance to me, I believe now more than ever on this planet it is time to approach all negative obstacles with new eyes, "Blind Eyes" and to see with the heart. I set my intentions into 2010 with Love for the Earth and all of my brother and sisters.
Change is needed on all levels, and it begins with each and everyone of first on a personal level. I send my very Best Wishes for all of you to Find the Peace and Love in your Hearts to begin this New Year Off with a Bang~~~and I hope it echos far beyond your wildest Dreams.....
