Misty is a 26 year old female songwriter/musician hailing from Honolulu, HI. She also travels back and forth to her other home Massachusetts. She has been playing music since the age of ten and has been performing in front of crowds since the age of 15. Her love of all types of music from jazz, country to black metal has brought a unique sound to her songwriting. Having been in jazz bands to death metal bands, she has gone back to her roots - the acoustic guitar. That's where it all started (besides the drums at age 10). Different influences can be heard throughout the different songs...from very rhythmic strumming, jazz type drumming and bass lines to dark melodic progressions resembling that of the metal genres. Oh, and of course the voice that freaks everyone out. Powerful, low, and yet melodic...sometimes it's hard to figure out where it comes from inside such a little body. Covers are done sometimes as well...usually those are her favorites.

Girl Fest Hawaii is holding the "Women Re-Birthing Justice" Concert on Saturday, February 16th at Next Door in Downtown, Honolulu. 43 North Hotel Street. 9pm-2am. 21+
This show is held in honor of Janel Tupuola, beaten to death in Kailua by her boyfriend with a shotgun Jan 16th of this year; and Jenny Hartsock, stabbed to death by her husband in Kalihi on Jan 10th of this year. Our condolences go out to their friends and families.
Coming together in this community event are local DJs, artists, performers, poets, educators, students and anti-violence activists. Local DJs Toki and Ms. Angel from the "Sisters in Sound" collective will perform on this important night of recognition and remembrance of these women and singer Jennifer Johns from Oakland will help us celebrate the beauty of their lives and memory. This night will also include performances by special guest artists.
