Mitch Ryan's Interests
|
| General | Music, politics, economics, 9/11, US history, bowling (what became my DJ name was given to me in a bowling alley... long story), trying new foods (raised VERY meat & potatoes), art gallery shows, photography, roadtripping. | | Music | I'm pretty open to just about anything so long as it's not cheesy. OK, I like some cheesy stuff sometimes too, as long as it's good cheesy.
I <3 house/progressive remixes of 80's and early-to-mid 90's tracks, I love "underground" progressive house, tribal house, some trance, and breakbeats.
I'm ok with some rock (mostly 80's and 90's) and a small selection of country.
I hate rap. You should too. :) | | Movies | The Matrix, Bourne Identity, Bourne Supremacy, Bourne Ultimatum, The Last Kiss, Good Will Hunting, Underworld, Shawshank Redemption, The Game, The Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink, 16 Candles, St. Elmo's Fire, Weird Science, Ferris Beuller's Day Off, Pump Up The Volume, Oceans Eleven, Run Lola Run, The Big Lebowski, Contact, The Day After Tomorrow, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Vanilla Sky, Conspiracy Theory, Murder At 1600, The Pelican Brief, Flatliners. | | Television | I don't own a television...
However, Saturdays in the fall I am pretty much camped out at a sports bar watching college football all day long (if I have the day or night off). Pro sports are boooooooooring. | | Books | The Four Agreements, The Right Questions, The Matrix and Philosophy (Welcome To The Desert Of The Real), How Few Remain, The Spirit Of Aikido, AstroAstrology (2006 Taurus), The Introvert Advantage - How To Thrive In An Extrovert World, How To Find The Work You Love, 1984, Madison - A History Of The Formative Years | | Heroes | George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, and those who founded this country; those that today stand up for the ideals that the founding fathers stood for, such as Ron Paul; Bill & Bob, Cal Ripken Jr. |

About me:
This is the "real me", not my alter ego DJ/musician profile page that's on here. This page is reserved for those who know me or are interested in getting to know me.
If you're just looking to rack up friends without really knowing any of them, prepare to be denied! :-)
That being said... Music is my life, though it doesn't really pay the bills... yet. Until that happens, I do with my spare whatever I can to support myself and not go totally insane while doing so. I'm not one to be content with any job, I've always done things along the lines of my hobbies or things I've had a genuine interest in doing/learning.
I am a learner: I always want to expand my knowledge about things that interest me (or things that should interest me. I am a clutzy, geeky, dork: I spend too much time online (ESPN.com, MySpace, Beatport.com, news sites, etc), I often bang into things awkwardly as if I don't realize how tall I am, and I frequently reference obscure movie lines in everyday conversation (ie "screws fall out all of the time, the world's an imperfect place" if something breaks because a screw came loose - now where did that quote come from??? LOL).
Things on my to do list: I'd LOVE to learn how to boogie board (or whatever it's called). Learning how to cook (ie not just reading the directions on the can/box) is something I'd like to do to expand upon the few things I know how to make from scratch. Follow through with my decision to take up some form of martial arts. Maintain the momentum of quitting smoking (made it my goal in May 2007 to quit on July 28th, 2007 and I have not smoked since).
|
Who I'd like to meet:
People that I'm going to run into in the real-world at some point. You should feel very lucky to be added if I will never meet you face to face, since I generally don't have time for people I won't have any real-world interaction with. ;-)
2008-04-18: Here are some pointers to gaining an approved friends request from me:
A. Tell me why you want me to be your friend. Arrogant? You betcha. I really don't have time to sit on MySpace all day long and post glitter images and "Happy [insert day of week here]" comments. If that's what you want, there are plenty of losers on MySpace that would be glad to do that for you.
B. Live nearby or plan to visit Savannah. I don't like to add people who I won't meet face to face.
C. Make your profile public. If I can't see you, I can't know anything about you to determine whether or not you're someone I want to get to know.
D. Read my profile!
MEOW
Would love to meet new friends and get to know my current friends better (Top Friends below are listed solely in alphabetical order)
