About me:
Hey there...
I'm Dimitri. I grew up in Moscow, lived in Boston and now in Silicon Valley in California. I still like to go the old country once in awhile: it's a lot of fun being a tourist at home...
I work for a company that builds lasers for eye surgery. I like it enough to be there for the past 5 years, but I'm also interested in other things... For example understanding how the brain works, in particular the visual system. How do we make sense of little dots of different color that make up an image or a scene. Or how we can teach a machine to do that... In some way, the "Terminator" was an inspirational movie to me :-)))
I went on to UC Berkeley to study Vision Science, so now I know how to build these guys! Well, not quite... But it's an interesting area for me.
