My FPS gaming life began with THE FIRST Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear. FPS's today would not EXIST without Rainbow Six leading the way on the PC back in like '96-97.
Battlefield. Amazingly amazing in so many ways.
Who woulda thunk of allowing players to steer submarines, battle cruisers, and battleships - drive jeeps, tanks, and missile launcher vehicles - pilot jet fighters - AND take advantage of First Person shooter capabilities, with Soldier Classes! One of the first games to properly utilize balanced classes.
