   About Mixing up the Medicine

James Whelan and Richard Clay have played together in various bands (notably the original Mulberry Blue), started performing as a duo in early 2006, and took on the name "Mixing up the Medicine" in the summer of 2007. James also perfoms solo, as Jimmy Scissors.

Mixing up the Medicine ceased performing in the autumn of 2008. James continues his solo project and Richard is playing with "The Allensmith" and also the reformed "Mulberry Blue".

Hi guys

Thanks for the add. Good stuff!

Try to avoid the scandals, but you can always join the army if you fail. Wheeeeeaaaaaaawwwww (harmonica sound effect).

If you do subterranean homesick blues (which I'd guess you do!) I'll have to see you live.

Cheers

It’s No Fun Being Jewish At Xmas
(Music – How Much Is That Doggy/Where Do You Go To)
©2006 Tony Levy

It’s no fun being Jewish at Xmas, ‘cos Santa just passes me by
It’s no fun being Jewish at Xmas, each year I watch him in the sky
His sleigh flies straight over my rooftop, he never comes down my chimney
I think he is anti Semitic, and he’s got it in for me

I never get any presents, the mezuzah is there on the door
I’d buy them myself but I can’t do, being Jewish I’m ever so poor
(Yes I am; such a shame)
I used to decorate a fir tree, hoped to find lotsa presents below
But every year cost a fortune, to replace all the bulbs that had blown
(Yes they do; and the fuse)

I hate eating sprouts and turkey, I prefer chicken soup for me; and
Smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels, ‘cos bacon’s not kosher you see
(No it’s not; it’s a pig)
One year I went to the Canaries, had lunch in 110
I said I would do this every Xmas, but I never did do it again
(Don’t know why; just wanna cry; Boo Hoo Hoo)

So what’s all the fuss every Xmas, with Carols and food booze and pop
It’s supposed to be all about Jesus, he’s just a Jew who made it to the top
