Miyoko takes a dark twist this season; a cultural clash of garment, fabric, traditions and old folkloric tales. Referencing north-eastern European and mid-western American costume, designer Emily Wills has created a rustic collection reminiscent of backstage wardrobe trunks and gypsies.
The signature style of the label reinforces the notion of contradiction; whereby styles of the past interchange with styles of the now. Winter focuses on mid-weight denims, metallic knits and soft jerseys, playing within a haunting palette of lead, ink, forest and optimistic fuchsia. Ski pants and skivvies feature heavily in this Nordic-alpine come Nevada-nights collection.
