Summer is coming up, and the department is looking forward to the break! I won't be here to keep the page running, so updates will be few and far between. Because of that, I've made this little banner just to let you know why there will be a lack of activity on our various online accounts. I'll still check back from time to time, so if you've got any questions about the department, don't be afraid to send us a message! It just might take longer than usual for me to get back to you. Modesto Junior College Television and Film Department

Exciting individual and group short films and major class film projects!!!

Students interested in studying film will find a wide variety of courses. From studying the art of watching film as you attend class at a local movie theatre; to learning all the elements of wrting, producing, directing, shooting and editing your own film projects. All students are encouraged to submit their best work to local and national student film competitions and to PTV-Pirates Television!

Amgen Tour of California; recording musical groups and the performing arts

Students enrolled in the television department learn to produce, direct, write, act as talent, shoot and edit projects and programs that are shown on local television and the internet! Advanced students become members of the PTV-Pirates Televsion staff and gain "hands-on" experience in studio and on-location television and documentary production.

For those looking for a career in television, film and/or video production, becoming a member of the Plankwalker Studios staff should be one of your priorities. This award winning, full-service production company gives student staff members "real world" experience working on professional projects. Applications are accepted each semester for camera operators, editors, graphic artists, production managers and more. Plankwalker Studios has produced projects for such clients as Georgia-Pacific, Sutter Gould Mdeical and Galaxy Theatres. Recently a twenty minutre film produced for Inns of Court won a national award for their organization and took Best of Show in a state-wide student film fetival!
