   Michael's Exciting Life's Blurbs
About me:
Okay my name is Michael and I make a photo based weekly web adventure comic called Michael's Exciting Life. The title was initially formed for two reasons:

a) As an attempt to get people to call me Michael. That worked!
b)So that the web address has the word sex in it so that people remember it.

You should check it out by clicking here and then using your eyes and fingers.

I also make music in Cats in Paris, Amanaplan, and Sparkles , and I've got a snakeskin belt which is really nice.

Fuuuuuuuuuck:

b>Tues 12th May 2009, The Klondyke Club, Burnage Range (off Albert Road), Levenshulme, Manchester, 8pm, £4..

xNoBBQx (Australia) + Hathor Duo (UK) + Trinity (UK)

BACK ON!!!

We're absolutely delighted to say that, after much hassle at the airport and having to fly back to Berlin, xNoBBQx are now able to play the scheduled show at the Klondyke Club. The dude of can-do Chris Tipton has managed to sort out work permits for the band so it's all groovy. Yes! It's gonna be a really amazing show, so please come show some love to these weary travellers who, we promise, will give you a gig to remember.

OUT NOW

The Hunter Gracchus Companions of the Porch CD-R

We've never been able to quite pin down exactly how the The Hunter Gracchus are going to play on any given occasion, which is a wonderful thing. A shifting unit with Syed Kamran Ali, Fiona Marshall and Jon Marshall at the core, they have recently settled into a fairly stable unit of six, but it's hard to know how long that'll last. Still, while it does, it's producing all manner of magical and highly unexpected performances. The one captured here was recorded at the band's practice room cum gig space, Fagin's Hideout/The Furniture Makers and is a less blistering freakout than some of their recent output, preferring to quietly explore every nook of tonal space. It simmers rather than erupts and, the longer you become immersed in it, the less aware you become of the passage of time. It's a recording that feels like it should go on forever and, when it does come to a close, the silence is shocking. In a time when it's all too easy for a group of improvisers to just go full-tilt in some euphoric pursuit, the Hunter Gracchus provides us with a glowing alternative that draws us slowly in and drowns our senses. This is truly awesome.

Ltd to 80 copies, sleeves printed on recycled card w/soya based ink, no less

£5.

For those of you who don·t know, after a year of serious fun Dismensionel·s alter ego, Freud Quiere Bailar continues to dominate and subvert the wishes of the super ego...

In 2008 FQB had the good luck of recording at Ultramarinos Costa Brava thanks to Cydonia, who·ll be releasing the LP later this year.
You can check out a couple of advance tracks here: www.myspace.com/freudquierebailar

Vampire Blues is the duo of guitar player Jon Collin (Serfs, The Whole Voyald) and harmonium player Jon Marshall (The Hunter Gracchus, Peril Hill). They have a pretty special tape out on Blackest Rainbow. We can't recommend them highly enough.

The Fifth Band is the gobsmacking trio of Stephen Lawrie (The Telescopes), Bridget Hayden (Vibracathedral Orchestra) and Kryszt Hladowski (The Family Elan). Oof.

A Wake is the duo of Nick Mitchell and Fliss Horrocks who also play in Beach Fuzz. This will actually probably end-up being a Beach Fuzz performance - this incarnation's first inside the UK.

Greg Kelley & Alex Neilson Passport to Satori LP

Limited to 500 copies.

OUT NOW!

This beautiful super-heavyweight LP, which comes packaged in a sweet full-colour sleeve reunites the UK's premier free drummer Alex Neilson, who's played, amongst others, with Motor Ghost, Directing Hand, Trembling Bells, Tight Meat Duo, Josephine Foster, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Jandek, MV&EE, Richard Youngs, Baby Dee and Alastair Galbraith, with Nmperign member Greg Kelley, whose reinvention of the trumpet is as crucial now as Anthony Braxton's reinvention of the sax was 30 years ago. A screeching, soaring, scattergun array of noises come maniacally out of Greg's horn, unlike anything we've ever heard and, with the addition of random stabs of electronics, he successfully straddles no wave, concrete and free jazz in a way that makes those genres seem like trite pigeonholes.
