my current sound system is an entry-level pioneer receiver and two large-ish sony speakers that I got for free.
until recently, i had VCR that was over 20 years old. it separated into two sections so that the tape transport could be taken with you and hooked up to a video camera. my parents had a compatible camera which was recently replaced by a handheld digital hi 8
i also have a samsung dvd player. it unfortunately is not capable of playing SACD or HDCD. For some reason, there is a nasty lag between the audio and video that does not occur when I play DVDs on my PlayStation2.

i am a computer guy, but that's not very interesting, so let's talk about music.
i mostly like techno, electro, minimal house, experimental electronic stuff, that sort of thing. i also dig art-rock (king crimson, tool, peter gabriel, etc.), french hip-hop, classical, jazz, dub, and traditional music from all over.
