For ten years, the My Little Pony Trading Post has been a place for collectors of My Little Pony to gather online and share their love for this classic toy. The very first version of the MLPTP was created by Jenn on October 12 1996. At that time, there was only one other website dedicated to My Little Pony. Jenn had a notion that an interactive website for My Little Pony collectors would be a success because she had picked up, while surfing, that she was not alone in her passion for the cute 80s toys. She knew there were other collectors out there, and thought a community site for placing free classified ads would be a great way to bring other My Little Pony collectors together. Jenn ran the MLPTP in various incarnations until www.mlptp.com settled at ezboard. Eventually, the popularity of the board meant that ezboard was no longer a viable host – it had become too expensive to run. Jenn decided to leave the community and the MLPTP was moved to www.mlptp.net by Satin Slipper and the new board opened in June 2005, with a new design and a bigger moderating team. Many other sites and communities dedicated to My Little Pony have been created over the years but the MLPTP remains dedicated to Jenn’s original vision to provide a place where collectors of My Little Pony can come together to trade ponies, share experiences and get to know each other in a friendly, relaxed, safe and fun environment.
