"Michael Maclennan's songs are as timeless as they are heartfelt, an old-school piano-fighter who allies true craft to infectious passion in his music. I often stick one or two of his tracks on my compilation CDs so I can kid on I'm sophisticated."
Christopher Brookmyre, Best-selling Scottish author, music fan.
Michael MacLennan is a Scottish pianist, singer and songwriter. Growing up in a small village in the north of Scotland he quickly became immersed in all of the music available around the family home from Van Morrison, Robbie Robertson, the Stones and Otis Redding to Ray Lamontagne, Ryan Adams and John Mayer.
From the age of 16 he began playing in local bars and venues and soon gained a reputation as an exciting and powerful live performer. He went on to study at the Royal College of Music, London. While living in London he performed at many of the capital’s most established live venues including the Troubadour, the Water Rats, the Bedford, the Regal Rooms, the Cobden Club, the Savoy, the Acoustic Lounge, the Borderline and performed to Rod Stewart, Elton John, Bob Geldof, Tori Amos and Natalie Imbruglia amongst others.
Since leaving college in 2004 he has performed extensively across the UK and abroad, supporting Hue and Cry in 2006, Judie Tzuke at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall and Marillion at the Liverpool Academy in 2007. He performed a solo set at the Belladrum Festival in 2007 which was subsequently aired on Radio Scotland.
In 2006, when a home recording of an original song was licensed by T-mobile for an advertising campaign in eastern Europe he signed a publishing deal with Eaton Music, London, and subsequently recorded a collection of songs in Ireland, produced by composer Sacha Putnam (Bush, Football Factory) and engineered by Ciaran O’Shea (Chester Bennington, Linkin Park).
Maintaining a hectic performing schedule as a professional musician he has been putting the finishing touches to his debut EP which is out now on most digital download sites.

Bonjour Michael Thanks for the friendly add I really appreciate your beautiful sound and music Best wishes from France (Follow me on twitter.com/pascal95 ) Pascal
Just wanted to again extend our deepest gratitudes for sticking about to watch us and the lend of a piano which actually sounds like a piano (as ours doesn't).
Also massive kudos on your set, I really enjoyed it and it filled me with actual dread the more you played as the prospect of following you sunk in. Maybe we'll try and get into Blue Dog on Thursday, but I understand it's quite exclusive.
