Though he is best known as a well-respected S/F writer and editor, Michael Moorcock is a "Rock Poet." Moorcock wrote lyrics for Blue Öyster Cult and Hawkwind (e.g., his spoken-word piece: "Sonic Attack"). Besides performing with these two bands, he also has appeared on five tracks of the Spirits Burning CD "Alien Injection," released in 2008. On the "Alien Injection" CD, he is credited with singing lead vocals, playing guitar and mandolin.
In 1975, an album New World's Fair by Michael Moorcock and The Deep Fix was released. It included a number of Hawkwind regulars in the credits (Dave Brock, Simon House, Alan Powell, Snowy White). A second album, Roller Coaster Holiday, was issued in 2004 as an extended version of the band's album New World's Fair, containing alternate mixes, instrumentals and demos.
On December 1st, 2008, a new CD from The Deep Fix days entitled The Entropy Tango & Gloriana Demo Sessions will be released. These are the demo recordings that Mike Moorcock did with Pete Pavli, based mainly on MM's GLORIANA and THE ENTROPY TANGO novels on Noh Poetry Records.
The band name "The Deep Fix" was the title story of an obscure collection of short stories by "James Colvin" (AKA Michael Moorcock) published in the '60s. Also, The Deep Fix was the fictional band fronted by Moorcock's character "Jerry Cornelius."

In
1967, San Francisco’s Fifty
Foot Hose were certainly one of the innovators of a sound that
took Psychedelia to new heights and was captured on the band’s one
record, Cauldron. They are a totally unique hybrid—on one
hand pulsating bay area acid rock, on the other, fractured electronic
freakery, becoming one whole cohesive being. The sci-fi-ish video
game-like artwork hinted at the sounds within, as did the Limelight
label’s pedigree for truly progressive sounds. Band leader, Cork
Marcheschi, used homemade electronic devices to create crude and
experimental soundscapes and instrumental compositions that were
sprinkled throughout the album.
Often starting shows with a
swelling rumble that exploded into the first song, they soon
developed a rabid following on the SF scene, though there was the
occasional totally wrong gig, like when a very-pregnant Nancy had to
perform at a Catholic Girls’ school! Still, the group wowed the
crowds, performing with greats like Chuck
Berry and Fairport
Convention.
I am glad to announce the release of my debut CD called "Interro Island". This is my first solo project, which includes original tunes composed and arranged by me. I hope you will enjoy my work!
