DEAD BEAT MUSIC ARTWORK
Michele Crimi, a native of northern Michigan and now a resident of Detroit, whom at a young age was fortunate to have been chosen to be a student of and mentored by Native American Indian Medicine Man: Mate Aus (maytay-oos) of the American Choctaw tribes that sent relief to the Irish during the Potato Famine of 1849.
My time with Mate Aus has resulted in a unique and heartwarming ongoing collection of what I have termed: Dead Beat Music Artwork. Dead Beat Music Artwork is the blending of Native American artistry with discarded musical instrument and thier various accessories.
These works respectfully honor the ancient traditions of Native American art and the devotion and talent of all musicians, as well as the gift of music itself that humankind has enjoyed since the very beginning of time. Firmly in the line with the philosophy of the American Indian "none shall be wasted" and indeed, none is. Every single component in the collection of Dead Beat Music Artwork is an actual part of the wonderful gift of music. There are many intricate, intertwining layers and textures to be discovered and enjoyed from afar to up close where one can fully apprieciate the complex techniques involved in the creation of these pieces.
This collection offers to all of you a unique cpportunity to appreciate the actual organic musical elements, once again delivering for your enjoyment, intricate compositions forever continuing to be a part of our souls, like the songs that we never forget.http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff69/mmcrimi66/?action=view¤t
