His sets are based on a minimal-techno sound, going from funky and crazy to dark and freaky. Somethimes with detroit-techno or deep house music in between. His favorite time for DJ-ing is early in the morning where the crowd is completely lost in the deeper sounds of his set.
Production-wise Mike_E is appealed by the more sinister and creepy music with mysterious atmosphere, wich you can find in all of his tracks.
Michiel Wijnen aka Mike_E started playing records when he was 12 years old. In the beginning he played some old-school hiphop together with his older brother, but after exploring the club scene and smaller local party's he got more and more into 'underground dance music'.
Experimenting with different musicgenres, like (detroit)techno, electro, house, etc., he eventually found his way into the so cald minimal sound. In the process of learning more about it, he decided to take things a step further and started producing his own tracks.
In the future he will try to take it to the next level as a producer by creating his own livesets.
Since 2006 he also organises his own free minimal-techno party's now and then, where he invites partner in crime l'Adique to DJ together and bring minimal music in his hometown.
