About me:

Heather “Ybis” was born in Anchorage, Alaska during November 1980 at the old native medical center. Although not remembering much from when she was a small baby . . . she sure made up for it by becoming an honoree child as she was growing up in the town of Santa Maria not to far from the Pacific Ocean. Heather spent most of her time drawing and get amerced in the out door sports. Growing up she played a lot of girl’s soft ball and volley ball. It is of no wonder that she is into sports today.

It was in elementary school that she got her first taste of art when she won her schools art show with the graphic detail of her dragon with the use of crayon, water color and pastels. This truly is when the artistic side of Heather came about. It was then that she becomes more interested in the arts rather than sports.

In Jr. High School Heather became apart of the girls volley ball team at the private school she attended right up until her and her family moved to the town of Paso Robles. Which by the way is no place for teen agers at the time; however no looking back Heather says “If I had taken the time I would have found myself getting more into horse back riding and barrel racing; if I had allowed myself to move past volley ball and cheerleading.”

It was the memories that she created while visiting her grandparents and other family in Alaska during the summers that she remembers fondly. In fact Heathers fondest memory was when her grandpa took her to a place called Portage Glacier that she will always cherish. “You see it was one of the last times that my grandpa and I ever got to spend time and just hang out before he got really ill.”

It was later on in life that Heather became interested in other aspects of life. In fact it was her aunties on her dad’s side of the family that got her into doing hair. You see they are hairdressers in Alaska. It was one of the summers that she visited that they did a make over on her hair and ever since they she has had a fascination with hair! It was because of this she chose to attend cosmetology school and become licensed in the state of California.

Just before her 21st birthday she met the love of her life Frank at the local Denny’s in their home town. Although they had seen each other around, they had not really met until September 28th of 2001. It was love at first site; ever since that day they have been inseparable and together for seven years going strong.

Qutoe: “You truly have not lived until you have had the wonder of love; it is with the love that comes the blessing of life; being in love with your soul mate is like no other feeling that possess the moment in time” - Ybis
