Moatis - Who? What? Where?

Moatis, a confusing nickname. :) The name Moatis comes from college when a friend introduced me to the game Dungeon Keeper. In that game, you can make the worker units work faster by smacking them. I found this hilarious... My friends thought it was a bit scary.  All they heard from the computer was *smacksmacksmacksmacksmacksmack*. So, one of them came up with the phrase "Mistress of all that is smacking" or for short... Moatis.

Mailler - Huh?

Chainmail. Chainmaille. Maille. Whatever you call it, it's the same thing. Think of medieval armor, knights, swords, etc. Chainmail has been around for ages, and I've always been fascinated by it. The armor looks awesome. However, I didn't know that there are tons and tons of different styles and ways of creating chainmail. I had wanted to start working on it a few years back, but never knew where to start. I had taken a metal jewelry design class in college, and found that I really enjoyed working with the materials. After that, I began searching for supplies, how-to instructions, and anything else I would need for this hobby.

I began working on chainmail in March 2004. It's been a very fun hobby so far. I have worked with bright aluminum, anodized aluminum, brass, stainless steel, copper, and even sterling silver.

Though jewelry is my main thing, I have branched out into the world of armor and chainmail clothing. Made a pair of bracers for a friend a while back, and I've made a bra and halter top for myself.

Gamer - Girls play games? Yes. Yes they do.

When I'm not working on chainmail or messing with my site, you can find me playing:

World of Warcraft - Currently playing on either Zangarmarsh - Alliance side or Blackrock - Horde side.

Other Interests - Yes, I do other stuff besides maillin' and gamin'.

Poi - My latest hobby. I have three sets, a practice one and two LED sets. One is green, and the other pair cycles through rainbow colors.

Writing - Mainly poetry. Probably won't be seeing any posted here.

Other art - I'm definitely not the artist that my sister is, but I do occasionally draw or paint.  Also do some graphic design and 3D images with whatever programs I have.
