MOB BARLEY & THE RAILERS ARE ALIVE AND KICKIN' IN 2010! .. Mob Barley & The Railers are having another great year of spreading the love and music of Bob Marley. Here's the latest cast of characters you can find on stage in rotation: .. MISTA D (of THE SALADS, lead vocals).. MATTY (of DODGER, guitar/vocals).. JAY (formerly of STAYLEFISH guitar/vocals).. WOODY (of SKRATCH3, bass).. KEN (of LO-FI, bass).. FATTY (of CHEAP SUITS, keys/vocals).. LUKE (of THE NEXT BEST THING, keys/vocals).. STEPH (of GRINDIG, drums).. MARCO (of POCKET DWELLERS, drums).. .. ------------------------------ .. Mob Barley & The Railers was started by Mista D (singer for The Salads) and Matty (singer for Dodger) as a fun, cover-band project....Something to do between our bands' touring schedules. .. At our first gig, in Toronto, we invited our buddy, Luke (from Skratch3), to join us on a few songs with his steelpan stylings. After that gig we decided to bring Luke along with us to our next few shows! .. After a few more overwhelmingly successful gigs in London and Burlington, celebrating Bob Marley's birthday (February 6th), we decided to do another Toronto gig. This time we brought along our buddy, Fil (from Flashlight Brown), to lay down some heavy bass lines. What a blast! .. Then we decided to go electric with it and welcomed Marco (from Pocket Dwellers) on drums, and Fatty (from Cheap Suits) ..s/vocals. A full and loud, live, reggae sound! .. And THEN, our Canadian friends in reggae band, Bedouin Soundclash, hired/stole (haha) our drummer, Marco, so we brought in Steph, who once played in a band called Grindig, and with Hawksley Workman (amongst many others), and is a fantastic drummer! .. And most recently... as Matty has been busy playing shows with Dodger (in support of their new EP! Go git it!), Jay (formerly of Staylefish+Pinkbelly) has been filling in on guitar... AND Woody (of Skratch3) has been playing a lot of heavy bass with us... but on the odd occasion that Woody isn't around, we have Ken (from Lo-Fi) filling in on bass! We are also without our steelpan boy (for the moment) as he is working his magic in Dubai. Go Lukey Go!! :) With this cast of characters and amazing musicians, all is sounding nice! .. We are hoping to continue bringing Mob Barley & The Railers to more venues and friends in the future, in whatever incarnation we can muster up! .. Why? Because we love the music of Bob Marley & The Wailers...and our crowds really seem to be diggin' the sounds! Everyone loves Bob Marley.....and if they don't, there's something wrong with 'em! :) .. See y'all out there! .. PEACE.1LOVE.D. .. *For BOOKINGS please email me at mistad420@yahoo.com .. ---------------------- ..
