About me:
..

The mission statement of The Mobile Film School commits us to establish a highly innovative, multi-disciplined media arts program unlike any other. From script to screen, we will accomplish what no other film school has attempted to do: take filmmaking education on the road, serving communities that wouldn’t have access to expert faculty and to state-of-the-art digital technology otherwise.
1. We’re Mobile: Filmmaking tends to center around urban areas. We transport filmmaking technology and tools to rural communities across the country, thereby increasing public access and appreciation.
..
2. We’ve Got Direction: Our curriculum hits on all aspects of film production, including storyboarding, scriptwriting, digital camera operation, video editing, set design, acting, budgeting and office management.
..
3. We’re Storytellers: Compelling our students to articulate the issues that matter to them most, they’ll produce short films and public service announcements that reflect on issues that are important to them, and to their communities.
..
4. We’re Multi-Faceted: The two-tiered media arts program works like this: 1) We’ll train underserved students from Central Texas as on-the-road peer-mentors for our national MFS workshops. 2) We then travel to rural communities across the country offering access to the same filmmaking education and digital media training.
..
5. We Take Action: By organizing seasonal job fairs to connect students with local film resources, with a focus on employment, internship, and continuing education opportunities. We’ll also hold local public screenings of student work, and help facilitate the film festival submission process.
..
6. We’re Experienced: The Mobile Film School faculty is a pretty impressive bunch. All working industry professionals, they’ll give students the kind of hands-on, practical instruction that few film programs provide.
..
7. We Look Toward the Future: Once the workshops have wrapped, we’ll encourage students to collaborate with our network of alumni and mentors through our website, future seminars, and projects - particularly MFS Films, an Austin-based production company that will be up and running the year 2010.
..
8. We’re Diverse: Our schedule commits us to hold workshops at one Native American Reservation and one predominantly Spanish-speaking community each year. We’re equally as dedicated to diversifying our faculty, staff and student mentor team, with a special focus on those who are underrepresented in the film business, particularly women, people of color and physically challenged individuals. What is a Frame?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfHQ0PT48dw
Changing lives one frame at a time, the Mobile Film School is launching its FRAME x FRAME Campaign to raise money to bring digital media technology education to rural and underserved communities. At 24 frames per second, you too can help students make a film one frame at a time.
