Like any other band, the MoBluz Band started out as an idea. With years of experience playing solo and in other bands doing cover tunes, Dennis Hoffman reached the point where he wanted to do the music he enjoyed most - Blues with a healthy dose of rockin' R & B.
Getting your heart into and loving what you do means putting yourself into it. His next step was to bring those originals to the public. The dream had begun percolating.
Dennis was talking with a friend one day. That friend said, "I hear yo' writin' music now. What kinda stuff are yo' writin'?
Dennis answered, "Blues, man. I had a lot of different influences in my music, but blues is what I'm writin'".
His friend quipped, " Tha's jus' what we need, mo' blues!
The phrase struck a chord in Dennis. He grinned and told his friend, " Thanks, man! You just named the band."
There was a name, to bring it to reality took time and commitment. The "MoBluz Band" began. Currently, it's just Dennis until he finds the others in Arkasas to join him and recreate the band.
As a dream becoming reality the MoBluz Band is constantly evolving. With Dennis Hoffman, the man behind the blues. moved to Arkansas, the band is totally changing personel. Everything is on hold while the rebuild is going on except the CD release - that's coming the 25th!
While the MoBluz Band covers more than the blues and R & B, the tunes by Dennis Hoffman will provide a relevant and vivid blues base for the band to stretch from. His work ranges from soft and haunting to flat out, butt swingin' dance music.
From standing by the one you love to being left lonely, the lyrics speak to almost anyone and have a way of reaching out that makes you want to hear them again.
There isn't a night long enough to enjoy all the songs this man wrote.
The MoBluz Band won't be just another band going to work for the evening. They will enjoy the challange of reaching for the right mix, balance and blend to make each song stand out and each player shine at what they do.
You won't just listen to MoBluz, you feel what the music expresses and find it speaks to you. If you don't find yourself tapping your toes or swingin your body in time to the music at least once during the night, I'll call the medics for you myself!
This CD isn't just the "same old songs", it's mo' bluz.
