Led Zeppelin meets Three Dog Night by way of the Allman Brothers transported into the 21st Century
Chattanooga-based Moccasin Bend, named after a local mental health hospital, can best be described as modern take on the hard rock of the Seventies. With a distinct blues background, reminiscent of Led Zepplin and Derek & The Dominoes, they add in a heapin' helpin' of Southern Rock and a dash of modern rock for a straight ahead rock-n-roll sound.
Moccasin Bend was first put together in 2004 by local radio personality Gary Poole as a rock-n-roll showband to play at regional festivals. Their first concert, at the 2005 Riverbend Festival, was an out-and-out success with one of the largest crowds of the week at the Budweiser stage.
"...one of the better live acts of the festival, Moccasin Bend made an immediate connection with the audience and left them wanting more by the end of the show. It's the rare band fronted by a 'celebrity' that actually pays more attention to the music than the celebrity." -- Scenic City Online, June, 2005
