About me:

The Missouri Coalition for Lifesaving Cures is a nonprofit coalition of patient, medical and faith groups and more than 65,000 citizens working to support and advance lifesaving medical research in Missouri. Join us at www.MissouriCures.com.

Who I'd like to meet:

In 2006, we helped pass the Missouri Stem Cell Amendment. As a result, our state constitution now protects patients' access to lifesaving therapies and cures.

Important facts about our efforts:

  • Missouri is now a leader in banning the cloning or attempted cloning of a human being. Violators are subject to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
  • The Stem Cell Amendment ensures that research allowed under federal law is protected in Missouri.
  • There is now more regulation and government oversight of health care research in the state than before.
  • The Stem Cell Amendment does not ask for or require any state funding.
  • Any stem cell research conducted in Missouri must comply with general state laws. The amendment does not overturn any existing state laws.

I am so excited that they are finally using stem cells for the treatment of MS. I hope the study continues to prove positive so that someday soon I can have the therapy. I have had MS for 36 years. I am now 53 and would love to have my future years MS free.

I have MS and the thought of someday being able to use stem cells to regenerate the mylin in my spine and brain is very exciting. It gives me hope that maybe in my lifetime, I will be free to run and walk unassisted someday. MS is a disease that I don't hear mentioned in the stem cell ads, but hopefully it will work. Keep up the hardwork.

    Hello,

I definitely need to get more involved with LifeSaving Cures. I currently work with a 27 year old male who suffered from a spinal cord injury last May. I'm seeing him 3 days a week and we are doing at-home rehab. I'm also providing chiropractic adjustments. If you have any good reading material you'd suggest I'd love to hear from you. Also, if you know of anyone who may be interested in getting similar treatment please contact me. Thank you!

It has been a long time since I've seen and individual captivate an audience like he does.

I can't wait to get him in the White House.
