True story: One late night in a lower east side bar, Phil, the bar owner was fed up, "I'm firing these dj's. They don't buy new music and they're getting lazy." So ModemmeX, who was cleaning up all the muck after a long night said, "Why don't you let me dj, Phil?" Phil said, "You dj? I didn't know you were a dj." ModemmeX said, "Well, I am." The thing was, Modemm wasn't a fricken dj. What a liar! She WANTED to be a dj, but with only one old turntable and a handful of records, ha! far from it. She actually had some guy laugh in her face once because she didn't have very many records and he thought she was a foolish, foolish girl. Phil said, "Well, why don't you share next Friday night with one of these other dj's and we'll see how it goes. But after that, you're back to bartending. I can't lose a bartender right now." So Friday night came and she climbed up there in the dj booth. Hands were shaking like mad but she played it all cool as hell. Well, needless to say her bartneding days soon ended and she's been making 'chunes ever since. the end
