Well hello there. My name is Modeon and I like to make noises and that. Recently I have discovered that people all over the world like listening to these noises. This pleases me greatly. The music on this page focuses more on the instrumental pieces that I create, but head over to my Bandcamp site to hear my little pop songs, and buy them if you wish. If you like what you hear, drop me a line and spread the word. It would be awful nice of you.
Bye bye now!
OLD BLURB:
Right, I believe it's time to start talking about 'Mindscapes'. On the 30th of March 2007, I had an idea to record an album, and since then the project has seemed to snowball. As avid readers of my blog will know, it was written specifically as a concept album (shudder). Each song details a different thought process after the demise of a relationship, and ultimately ending up in a new one (via the story in between as detailed in the rest of the songs). Both musically and lyrically, there are themes and motifs which appear throughout, and the album is meant to be listened to as one complete work, although the individual tracks do stand up on their own. Me being me, I had to be clever, and owners of the full 10 track album will notice that when played on a loop, it is perfectly cyclical, both musically and with regards to the narrative. Theoretically you could pick it up at any point and let if play over and over. Neat huh? Naturally the running order is as it is for a good reason and should be stuck to. Self Indulgent? Yes. As a 'debut' I think it's pretty good, and hope you will give it a listen on the 30th of March 2008. Does that date sound familiar? Well yes, it is being released precisely a year to the day of its inception.
"A departure from the music you're used to him helping create but something incredibly special that needs to be experienced to be heard." - Elliot at Smooth One
"Go buy it. It's bloody weird." - Matt at Cedar
Oh yeah, I also play all the instruments, do the recording and production, artwork and all of that stuff, as if you were remotely interested. Which you weren't. And aren't. Sigh. I waste my time. But I waste it well.
Some praise:
'"Kleptomania" by "Big Ben & The Houses of Parliament,", A young unsigned act from the UK. This demo track is awesome! Recorded on a 4 track recorder in 2006 in a small back bedroom near Watford. Very cleverly done, engineered by the brilliant talented youngster, Ross Churchill'
