PRESS:

The Guardian
"Heavy-edged electro popsters"

The Independent
"Refreshingly original...maybe 2008 won't be so atrocious after all"

John Hillcock (Xfm London)
"Manchester's naughty little secret…this band annoy me, because as soon as I heard Faites Tes Jeux on last year's ace High Voltage compilation I knew it had to go on my podcast, yet John Kennedy has just played another song of theirs on Xfm X-posure which I possibly love even more. I'm just being a moany sod. This band make great pop music."

Time Out
"Glacial Gameboy pop"

Dave Haslam (Xfm Manchester)
"One of my top tips"

Drowned in Sound
"Fun boy/girl electronic rock…an interesting departure from the archetypal Mancunian fare"

Kruger Magazine
"Crazy, quirky, quality."

High Voltage
"Superhumanly perfect…only fair that they release records and take over the world…we could quite possibly be hearing the sounds of the most beautiful pop band of the past two decades." 5/5

Loud and Quiet Magazine
"Nobody is safe from Modernaire…pop music with a decadent underbelly of experimentation."

Amelia’s Magazine
“Unbelievably catchy…choir-like slashy vocals belied dark lyrics.”

Manchester Evening News Online
"The most endearing music I’ve heard this year. Mixing samples upon samples and blending in wispy, enchanting vocals, it combines to form music for robots"

Subba-Cultcha
"A busier Goldfrapp, a new romantic Kate Bush…so many references to make, but they shouldn't diminish the might that is Modernaire; sexy, melancholic and worthy of creating a new dance sensation for it to soundtrack."

Sandman Magazine
"If only The Knife were this glamourous…beats of the Richard X variety work coolly to the end of Soft Cell electro-pop and some cheekily knowing gothic Rachel Stevens twists…somebody give them a studio and an arena."

Sounds Like

Ah...my notes are waaay off then, I had you down as from Manchester. So where are you actually from then?

I don't know. I have a good eye/ear for these things. The A&R wo/men will be there soon enough.

I'm an artist by trade, though I've dabbled in promoting and scouting.
My work is on the page, feel free to glance across it :)

This whole profile, a small piece of my MA project, is a base for conversations such as this. I'd like to talk some more with you, if your interested?
