Modern Children was formed in winter 2006 found on Hong Kong. Winter 2006, Chih (Guitar/ Bass) with great influence by indie-pop band Belle & Sebastian would like to form an indie-pop band, so he invited his twin brother Tony (Drum) to join in and advertised on an internet local band forum to find the rest of the members. The post did rebounds. Kenneth Tsang (Vocal/ Guitar/ Bass), who formed bands in Hong Kong, Japan, and Texas, and Jimmy Cheung (Guitar/ Bass) contacted Chih after seeing the post. The band was formed. Few weeks later, Kenneth introduced his college friend Sai Ho aka S.T (Violin/ Programmer), a solo Electronica musician and Audio-Visual artist (st-saiho.com), to the rest of the band members, and hence the 5 people line-up of the band is formed. “Colourful” is the word to describe Modern Children. They are colourful, because they play in different music styles and always go on two extremes: indie pop and post rock; they are colourful, because they fill their songs with all kinds of sounds by using wide range of instruments, from guitars and bass to violin, rainbow bells and accordion, and sometimes adding electronic elements into their songs; they are colourful, because they can be sweet as honey, and in the meantime, they can also rock like a bee. “Their songs are well crafted, and they are not just there to play with a lot of musical instruments for your entertainment. Songs are long and tight. I heard one of the most satisfying rhythm guitars playing from a local band.” (Bun Ng, Underground 59 Live Review) Modern Children are finding the balance between “pop” and “alternative”. They explore the music boundary, and fill in beautiful melodies. contact us : modernchildren@hotmail.com Facebook Fan Page Facebook Group Douban ===============================================
