"...wholesome Manics-influenced alt-rock from York natives Modern Day Chicane goes over well with the majority... For what it is, it’s pretty good. ...‘Scattergun’ features some fun, and slightly uplifting elements and ‘Lowest Point Nothing’ incorporates some nifty guitar work... ...these lads put a lot of effort into their music... ...this is cool..."
Sphere Magazine, August 2009
Modern Day Chicane - big guitars, big anthems, big hearts. A hardworking rock band with catchy lyrical hooks, ballsy Gibson-fuelled riffs, and blistering onstage energy.
Likened to Manic Street Preachers meets Queens of the Stone Age, with a nod towards the Northern honesty of Arctic Monkeys and Oasis, the lads have been delivering their brand of chunky wholesome guitar goodness since late 2007.
Fresh from support slots with 'Lucky Soul', 'Sigue Sigue Sputnik' and 'The Primitives' - Modern Day Chicane are champions for everything real and true - with zero tolerance for shit attitudes, shit egos, and shit songs.
With festival dates and studio time with legendary Clash engineer Simon Humphrey all in the pipeline, 2010 looks to be a promising summer for the York-based 4 piece.
