The early days , personal notes and reasons :
Kevin Brown ( Drummer ) - Born in Harlem U.S.A. , Kevin felt the pull towards percussion at a early age . He wanted to be a drummer since at the age of 5 years old . He use to play on plastic containers with wires on the bottom to give a snare effect . He had felt nothing for any other instrument . At the age of 17 , Brown joined his first band with a pre-historic Maxx drum kit . He learned later how to properly take care of his drums . People who don't take care of there drums really piss him off. Brown was rightfully proud of his self taught drumming . He was interested in music and was able to read it , but when he moved into playing in groups , he felt more comfortable playing with feeling than with technique . If you pay to much attention to technique , you start to sound like "every other drummer " . He never considered to be particularly influenced by anyone or anything . When he first started playing , he was most impressed by early soul records , he liked the feel and sound that they achieved . He said to himself , " i'll get that sound to " , drums should be big and powerful .
Gary Holmgren ( Lead Guitarist / Vocals ) - According to early astrologers , Aries are extremely sensual , dramatic , fun - loving people , born leaders into whatever they do . It is said to be the star sign of creativity . Born in Syosset , NY , he pursued his own particular course right from the beginning . My teachers said " that i was intelligent but unwilling to concentrate " . At 13 years old , all of a sudden he became interested in girls and it came down to attracting them the best way he could . So he grew his hair . It was flopped down over his ears and was immediately chopped off by demand . Gary's parents showed tolerable enthusiasm to his long hair and rock n roll . He was 15 when he immediately fell under the rock spell . His friend John Fustele , who lived near his home played a mean guitar . It was John who really introduced him to music . It was the Margaritta Grille where he first got his mojo playing with drummer Kevin Brown and 3 other cats as Mississippi Leghounds . Unfortunatly , later that night the club burned down to the ground . At 18 , he had to make a major decision . Pursue college and a career or music . He chose music .
James Lovrin ( Bass Guitarist ) - Born and raised in Brooklyn , NY , he became very interested in rock music . It started off with listening to bands such as Green Day , Red Hot Chili peppers , Smashing Pumpkins , Bush and The Doors . At the age of 13 , he got his first guitar and went for lessons . At the time , he wasn't able to discipline himself enough to sit at home and practice . He preferred being out with friends . At the age of 16 , he moved to Long Island ( Manorville , Ny ) where he went to a new school and met new people as well . James always disliked school and never really went to his classes . At the age of 18 years old , he dropped out of school and decided to work full time instead . After a few different jobs , James got hired with a construction company where is father worked doing carpentry . He didn't enjoy what he was doing but he knew he had to stick with it . James had met Gary Holmgren who also worked for the same company and started to get to know each other . He was informed that he played music and was currently looking for a new bass guitarist . Later on , Gary's friend Kevin Brown began working with us too . This is how James learned that they were in a band together . He took the opportunity to try and pursue his goal of playing music , so he joined the band .
