Did I already mention coffee? | | Music | | | Movies | | | Television | Northern Exposure, Carnivale, and VR5 (remember that?). Oh, and Thomas got me hooked on "The IT Crowd". | | Books | There are too many to list. No, seriously. Right now, for instance, there are ten (10!) waiting to be read on the bedside table, not including the ones that I've dragged off to other locations elsewhere. I read about an hour a day, rain or shine, and try not to let my brain atrophy.
Selection(s) this week: a business planning book, six magazines on urban farming, a book on the Carter family (musical, not political), and four books on simple/country living, because we are kicking it *rural*, baybee.

About me:
I'm in North Carolina, after having gallivanted across most of the united states in the process. I'm half of the Lime & Violet Empire.
Yes, it's actually an empire.
I'm married to the sideshow performer, Johnny Mayhem. Yes, he really swallows swords and breathes fire. Yes, the staplegun hurts, and yes, I've had to go with him to the ER. Needless to say, we're very grateful for health insurance.
The major force in the Empire is the podcast with my other half (the female other half, though J gets in on the action, too.) called Lime & Violet. I'm Violet, a.k.a. The Crazy One. Like you probably couldn't tell. It's all about knitting, kiltworms, and beer. Don't ask -- you really don't want to know. I have a livejournal, and a personal site that's non-Empire related, and we just started a second podcast that's not quite up yet about sniffy things. Yes, seriously.
I'm the Idea Half of L&V, I hate spiders and have a little problem with pugdogs. (Problem: they spontaneously leap into my pockets and demand to be brought home. Who am I to say no?) I have three dogs -- Shenzi, Cash, and little Wilford. None of them, oddly enough, are pugs.
I spin my own yarn. It's surprising I'm not the crazywoman in some farmer's field, chasing a sheep around with a giant pair of clippers. Wool-addicted doesn't -begin- to cover it. (At least it's not tequila, right?)

Who I'd like to meet:
People with integrity. Ethics. People who aren't scared to cut loose once in a while, but who don't have to drink insane quantities of alcohol or drop acid to have fun. People who know that married means married, and no, you can't sleep with my husband, thankyouverymuch. Artists, writers, crazy performers and knitters -- that pretty much sums up my circle of friends, with the occasional marketing maven thrown in to keep me from being too floofy. People who have principles and aren't scared to live them.
