"What we seek is a new and different way of life. We search for a way of life in which all men will be treated as responsible human beings, able to participate fully in the political affairs of their government; a way of life in which ignorance and poverty, if not abolished, are at least the exception and are actively combated; a way of life in which the blessings and benefits of the modern world can be enjoyed by all without the total sacrifice of all that was good and beneficial in the old Ethiopia. We are from and of the people and our desires derive from and are theirs.
Can this be achieved from one dusk to the next dawn, by the waving of a magic wand, by slogans or by imperial declaration? Can this be imposed on our people, or be achieved solely by legislation? We believe not. All that we can do is provide a means for the development of procedures which, if all goes well, will enable an increasing measure and degree of what we seek for our nation to be accomplished. Those who will honestly and objectively view the past history of this nation cannot but be impressed by what has already been realized during their lifetime, as well as awed by the magnitude of the problems which still remain. Annually, on this day we renew our vow to labour, without thought of self, for so long as Almighty God shall spare us, in the service of our people and nation, in seeking the solutions to these problems. We call upon each of you and upon each Ethiopian to do likewise."

Sounds Like
Quality roots reggae through and through. From sweet acoustic and deep nyabinghi, to heavy one drop and irie tunes, all the way to the militant steppers and heady dub. Message music with deep universal spiritual, political, and personal significance. Music to strengthen and encourage us on our positive journey in this often negative and polluted world.

"the best in current conscious and uplifting roots reggae music"
HEARTICAL MIX CD'S, EVENTS, BOOKS, AND MORE
Lionheart Sounds is simply a channel for focused, progressive, and realistic consciousness coming through the medium of reggae music. We seek out the best in heartical and uplifting tunes and blend them into consciousness elevating and inspirational live sessions and mix cd's. Our selections span the globe as reggae itself travels from its homeland in JA, back to the African continent, to Europe, back to America and throughout the Virgin Islands, Trinidad and beyond. First and foremost we seek out tunes from heartfelt artists whose striving and focus can be felt in its ability to uplift and inspire. We have realized that there is no better tool in our efforts to free peoples minds and set them on a path of progressive conscious action, than reggae music, and have therefore focused our energies upon this effort.
We will forever continue to remember and to remind ones of the wicked nature of the eurocentric colonial world order that we are living under and the implications of this reality for all people. In particular we keep at the forefront of our thinking the physical, economic, and mental genocide bombarding the original, natural indigenous, and particularly African poeple, and legacy. Daily we remind ourselves of the unceasing efforts of great leaders like Haile Selassie, Marcus Garvey, and Malcolm X and we continue to uplift their names and legacies while striving to manifest our niche in the great works that they began. We are very interested in the economic potential of reggae music to strengthen efforts towards development in Africa, and look forward to the inevitable and necessary arising of projects of this nature. We pray that guidance, humility, and purpose can be found for those seeking to progress in these efforts.
With these reminders and focuses we come back to the music. We continue to listen, bless the live sessions, and compile mixes for further inspiration, education, and focus. We truly give thanks to all the artists, musicians, dj's, promoters etc. putting in work, the fans and supporters who are the economic foundation for the works, and especially for the elders who have, through countless trials, passed down the great legacy of truth and responsibility. We hope and pray that people will truly listen to and penetrate the depths of the message in the music and apply this to their conception and action in day to day life.

Strange day. After watching a documentary about streakers suffering from over exposure, I took a nap. It was a short one. I woke up a midget. At first I was freaking out, jumping around, trying to reach the wall phone. It tired me out. So I sat on a foot stool and placed my face in my hands wondering why this had happened to me. In the middle of self-pitying I started noticing how much fun it was to kick and swing my feet. I was smiling again, and found myself running through the house at full speed... wrestling with my now giant puppy. Oh, the joy! I hadn't had so much fun in years! We laughed and played and laughed until we both fell asleep exhausted on the living room floor. Then I woke up and ruined the whole damned thing.

To Release isn't to forget, not to think about, or ignore. It doesn't leave feelings of anger, jealousy, or regret. It's not about pride and it's not obsessing or dwelling on the past. It's not about giving in or giving up. To let go is to cherish the memories, but to overcome and move on. Letting go is learning and experiencing and growing. To release is to be thankful for the experiences that made you laugh, made you cry, and made you grow. It's about all that you have, all that you had, and all that you will soon gain. Letting go is releasing and having the courage to accept change, and the strength to keep moving. It is realizing that the heart can sometimes be the most potent remedy. To let go is to open a door, and to clear a path and set yourself free---
Lionheart Sounds, remember that it's easy to let go when holding on hurts so bad--so free yourself from all these expectations and just be :-) Hope you find the unity in my new single "Release" feat. JRockA.
So come peep the track! Stay creative and stay connected!! Hope all is utmost blessed and irie to da fullest :-) Your friendship and love is greatly appreciated.
