In September 2008, Modicum of Silence was conceived by Nic Ross and Kevin McCraney as a way to self-release their solo projects and musical collaborations online. Eventually, the label expanded to include other experimental artists from around their hometown of Whitehouse, Ohio. While still slowly growing, the label wishes to stay faithful to its location, organizing local shows for its artists on a regular basis. Currently they have produced nearly half of its releases, while the other half have been contributed by fellow local musicians.

i acutaly havent been using a lot of effects on these songs. and I think you do have a point about the Journey sample at the end of the song, i'll have to think of something to replace it with or just cut it out.
I'm really glad you like them and I can't wait to get done with the album and have you work your mystical music magic on the songs!
how the hell did I get on a radio show? woah thats kick ass. oh I also made a soundcloud account http://soundcloud.com/jtrux I haven't got the time to upload tracks but i'll get to it. I was also wondering if you would be interested in maybe making me a myspace music account? I don't really feel like making a new email adress. that would be really cool man. I just think its time for me to get my music out there for people to listen to. my parents are going to be gone almost all of tomorrow so I'll get to sending you those new songs for my new album to you. I really think you'll like them.
can I use all these VST's with Live? I've been messing around with Live whenever I have some free time, but I have no idea how to actualy like make music with it, I've just been loading in mp3's and messing around with them with the effects and stuff. Also, Live reduces my computer to a fucking slug man, uses up all my shit so it gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssss ssssssssssssslllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
"This album was inspired by the constant conversation of the chatting birds outside my window that I would hear while on my computer. This album is also inspired by my love of ambient field recordings. With that in mind, I would advise you to listen to this album while your outside in public, so the ambient noises of cars passing by, the conversations of people, or just the sound of the wind, will fuse with the music and add interesting new layers to the music. I hope this album will make you appreciate the music of everyday life, and open your eyes to new musical possibilities."
you can also use that as the info on the MOS page when the album is finished.
also, whats that kick ass VST website you told me about? I think I have it bookmarked somewhere but don't remember the site.
hey Nic, sorry we haven't talked in a while. I'm kinda "grounded" right now, but it's kind of hard to be grounded off the computer when you have an extra power chord your mom doesn't know about
as you know, I'm currently working on that ambient field recording project, still don't have a name on it. I currently have three songs done:
We Are No Longer Aerodynamic- 3:40
They Nailed Me To My Mind- 3:15
Magnet Telephone- 5:53
and I currently have an idea for a new song called Prey Not, which is an anagram of the word entropy, which is going to play a part in the song.
with this album, I was hoping productin wise, to go with a lot smaller sound. not as many glitch drummy parts, more like some nice reverb, some ambient layers of intresting sounds in the background. I wrote up a paragraph as a kind of bio/info about the album so I'll send that to you as a comment later.
I'm really digging this project so far, I just wish it didn't take so long to make. but I don't feel like rushing the music.
I'll send you the three songs whenever I get a chance to make some little changes in Audacity (Audacity is a BITCH on my computer and takes FOREVER to load up. maybe it's all the VST's)
