MY DEAR KING
Our prince is not gone. He is not dead for there is no death. Only change of intention, direction and energy. He has begun his journey to a place where he was destined to travel before his time began. Centuries before heart’s first beat, and babies tears a glorious valley was promised to him. A promise from creation to creation. Before he was Moese, he chose to make this exodus that all people will step into, receiving our own predestined position in the soft light of pure love. Let our tears smooth the road before him but not so much that he should lose footing and let our smiles and laughter fill his sails with wind to cross over.

We do not chose where we land for this choice has already been made. Need not focus on the landing but rather the flight. Through the grace of god he is lifted from all pain and all suffering of flesh, the spin and whirl of this life gift now quiet and settled, he has come down just right. Each king and queen and prince and princess arriving together with Our Prince, the heir to your throne, into our one true home on the shoulder of our father, in the heart of our mother. Now he is king! For as true as he was heir to your kingdom he was the heir to god’s kingdom. A crown that awaits is now bestowed unto its rightful wearer. So King Moese sits upon a throne more glorious than any known to man with cushions soft as velvet wind and smooth as a mountain lake, adorned with jewels and gems shining with the brilliance of one million stars and galaxies the likes of which our eyes have not seen and our minds cannot possibly imagine. A promise is fulfilled. As Moese crosses over this river and becomes the morning sunlight to kiss your face through the kitchen window, he will watch you. He will wait for you and Akua and Luna to regain your dreams and find lost joy and broken smiles among ruins. He will wait. Our tears will fill the river just enough to carry him across but we must not give so much to the current that he should be swept up by our sorrow and not reach the tranquility of the sandy shore ahead. We are responsible for helping him find his beautiful wings and provide him the freedom to use them. Still loyal to his father with the roots of his spirit planted so strongly in majestic family, he will wait for your blessing to make his journey.

Moese walks as One with our ancestor’s and leads us in a forward march toward freedom and simplicity, joy, love and light. He lives through us. His beautiful smile shining in our laughter, his strong voice in our songs, and true hands at work in all we create. His love heals through our hearts. So he cannot be gone. Nor can his spirit be stopped. A body can be hurt but a soul grows stronger each time it wears new skin and only burns brighter without the house of bone and blood to contain the brilliance. As moons and tides ebb and flow in uninterrupted rise and fall, moving towards or away, but always moving, so do flames of soul grow and recede. Where a small spark remains, sparks become flames.

Today, yesterday or tomorrow a child is born and our dear King Moese now carries a new name, a new face with a familiar smile and rekindled spark burning in curious child eyes. A little prince or princess stands on a beach and tosses a stone out into the waves to watch the splash and the ripples his throw began. Moese is both this prince and the ripples. All of the love your son shared with the universe circles around us and the light of your beautiful boy can never be stopped. Everlasting and forever loving as our King of Heart.

You wouldn't guess from his heavy DJ style that this California native wasn't straight out of Jamaica. Moese Angel, however was born to a Jamaican mother and French father in London. This musician hails from a musical legacy which includes his uncle, Junior Marvin and his sister, rising songstress Luna Angel. His many impressive talents extend way beyond his musical abilities, which include percussion and his fascination with the bass sparked by the first one he received from his famous uncle.

Since childhood Moese has been surrounded by music; he was fortunate enough to see Bob Marley perform as an infant. He spent many of his developing years studying and later teaching juggling, stilt walking, and uni cycling at a notable performing arts Summer Camp in Northern CA. It was there in the rural mountains of Mendocino that he began to discover and nurture his own musical gifts. In his teens, he began to study the djembe drum with master Senegalese teachers, and he later went on to perform as part of an elaborate dance ensemble all throughout California.

Moeses style is a true representation of his wide variety of diverse influences. His own unique blend of dub combined with elements of hip hop, jazz, and blues provide a new twist his true roots stylewhich resonates with more than reggae fans in California and throughout the world. He chants tunes about Rastafarian consciousness and the reality of challenging times. His music incorporates deep occasional harmonies above innovative and understandle edgy ragga-style lyrics over dancehall heavy tracks.

His off-stage reserved demeanor is a far cry from his lively on-stage persona. He performs as part of the Luna Angel band providing a dancehall flavor to the powerful showcase. He has had the opportunity to express his talents opening for such artists as Bounty Killer, Buju Banton, Toots and The Maytals, and Alpha Blondy. His chants can also be heard on several bay area mix tapes released by the sound system, Jah Warrior Shelter.

Moese demonstrates his producing and engineering skills on Lunas debut album Move with Me. Moese is dedicating himself to procuring his unique craft and developing his debut album. He has proven that his has a genuine foundation and authentic talent which makes him one of the most promising voices out of California.
