“PILLERS OF THE COMMUNITY - WE FIGHT DIRTY
This was the most controversial of all the choices. It was by far the most confident and accomplished of all the demos. However scratchy it sounds, whoever made it has complete vision. From the name of the band to the song through to the lyrics, it was a complete package. However we were torn about its inclusion due to the songs subject matter. Is this band really a bunch of neds? Or is it some middle class mummy’s boys making a social comment. Whatever, Andy Warhol said paint what you know. I was once told write what you know. It would seem Pillers are doing just that.” – Fran from TRAVIS
In recent months Rob Broderick has been delighting and amazing audiences with his show Abandoman. It is a heady combination of improvised rap based on audiences’ suggestions over guitar licks and folk rhythms. “It is like 8 Mile meets Flight Of The Concords…” Chortle May 2008. The show was launched at the Brighton Fringe Festival this May. During the festival Rob played to a packed house and was invited to perform at the festival closing party and awards ceremony at the Spiegeltent.“
