Mohawk are a British Nu-Metal band from Felixstowe, Suffolk.
Musically melding politically-charged rap core with rock and metal, the band has sold
over a thousand albums since its formation in 2005 as Mohawk.
As Mohawk, the band won “Best Band in Suffolk” when they entered the SGR FM competition with the track “I donʼt wanna be famous”, and have gigged extensively around the UK.
They have a strong following, both locally and further afield. Local media has shown a positive interest in the band; as well as winning the SGR FM (now Heart FM) competition, they were invited to record a session for BBC Radio Suffolk, broadcast on Stephen Fosterʼs Drivetime show in March 2007.
Mohawk are going from strength to strength, having explored and experimented with various sounds and genres in their album work, to arrive at their existing solid and definitive core-sound.
“A three piece band with an ever solid and growing fan base and a hard won reputation
for the depth and quality of their live performances. Spencer Lee Horton is the guiding
hand behind the band writing and producing all of the bandʼs output as well as being
their virtuoso lead guitarist and lead singer”— Ipswich24, Aug 2008.
“Hold on to your hats because this powerful rock trio from Felixstowe are set to make a
big impact with a mix of strong originals and one or two classic rock covers…A
tremendous little trio with a very big sound”— Stephen Foster, BBC Radio Suffolk, 2007.
