Kiam is a channell for a dark, sleazy non-physical entity called Mojo. Kiam relaxes by having some whiskey, slips into trance, his eyes turn black, and begins speaking with an accent that is part deep south delta and part unidentifiable. Mojo has been enormous influence on us. All old school blues, like Muddy Waters, Sonny Terry, Robert Johnson, etc. Newer stuff like Ash Grunwald, Dallas Frasca, The Fumes, Marshall, Chase the Sun, anything with some fucking feeling.

We have busked our way around Australia playing everywhere there is people.
We've gigged at strip clubs in Kalgoorlie, mine camps in remote WA, played bikie gigs, art exhibitions, even a lunchtime gig in a Subway restaurant. We've played over 300 "gigs" in 2009 to hundreds of thousands of people in the street. We have played markets, malls, nightclub traffic, railway stations and tunnells, and our favourite new thing is whenever our car overheats (as it does alot) we busk at the scene of the breakdown. that gives us entertainment as people cant quite comprehend why anyone would busk on Parramatta Rd Sydney or on the Nullarbor Plain!
.
Kiam left school 7 years ago to play harmonica full time, after being inspired at a John butler gig. He spent years honing his style busking around his home town Laurieton and Port Macquarie. He has no phone, no form of ID and can occasionally go missing. He was an old black blues man in a former life.He has shared the stage with australias best blues n roots acts, including Ash Grunwald, Chase the sun, Hatz Fitz, Cass Eager, Young Guns, Geoff Turnball, Kim Churchill, Barrellhouse, Marshall and the Fro and many more, and at only 23, is already one of the elite harp players in this country.....
All Kiams lyrics are impromptu, and Tim believes Kiam is a channell for a very dark, sleazy non-physical entity called Mojo.... Kiam sips a bit of whiskey, his eyes turn from brown to black, and contact is made with the other side.....

No one really knows to much about Tim but once upon a time he had a plumbing business in sydney (Dirty Deeds Plumbing) and suddenly gave it all away and has spent the last 7 years travelling around Oz (done five laps now) occasionally doing a bit of work, now full time busking.
Kiam (named after Omar Khayyam the poet) was busking in Port Macquarie as Tim was passing through on a solo drive to WA.
Tim chucked $20 in his case, told him he played some blues slide guitar and did he want to jump in for the ride.
He went.
That was almost 3 years ago.
They recorded their debut EP "whiskey and women" in a dark room in Sydney in Feb this year and have already sold thousands of copies from the street. The next Cd "dirtylove" was recorded at Byron Bay and is due to be released real soon.

My wish for you (whomever reads this) today is to experience each moment with fresh eyes that are not clouded by negativity or cynicism, but open to the genuine wonder of life in the present moment.
A close friend of mine who currently has stage 4 Cancer has touched me deeply with the remembrance of this feeling that we all are inherently born with. And that feeling is true happiness.
