This is the official Myspace Site of the Mojo Gypsies! Based in the eastern Pennsylvania/central New Jersey area, we specialize in Chicago- and West-Coast-style Blues and R&B. At a Gypsies gig, you're likely to hear songs by such classic blues artists as T-Bone Walker, Ray Charles, Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson, Louis Jordan, Little Walter, Freddie King and Albert Collins, as well as music from contemporary blues performers including Little Charlie and the Nightcats, Kid Ramos, Rod Piazza, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Paul DeLay, and James Harman.
Never ones to shirk from a challenge, the Gypsies pride themselves in rising to any musical occasion, from small, intimate gatherings to large, outdoor festivals. Available as an "unplugged" duo or trio, or as a four- or five-piece combo, the Mojo Gypsies are sure to please even the most discriminating of blues and r&b afficionados. Check us out at http://www.mojogypsies.com!
Incidentally, this page was originally developed for Dave "The Professor" Orban's birthday, by his daughter Tess, who has special connections with the band, because she's cool like that...! Thanks, Tess!
Professor Dave Orban can also be seen filling the guitar slot with James Day and the Fish Fry (http://www.jameswday.com), as well as with The Rippers (http://www.myspace.com/therippersbluesband).
