We are a 5 piece blues band based out of Columbus Ohio. We
are an original act but do play a healthy dose of blues
covers. Founded three years ago, we are relatively new to
making known our blues music - but what a three years it's
been!
With year one came our first show at the Columbus Ohio,
award-winning blues venue The Thirsty Ear. From there,
things took off.
Our second year was greeted by the arrival of Public and
Internet radio broadcasts of an all-original CD, Time to
Play the Blues, and festival appearances such as Creekside
Festival in Gahanna, Ohio and the Mahoning River Festival
in Youngstown, Ohio.
This year, our third, started with a bang when we won the
16th Annual "River City Ohio Blues Competition" sponsored
by the Blues, Jazz & Folk Music Society of Marietta, Ohio.
With the support and sponsorship of BJFMS, in early
February 2009 we will head to Memphis for the national
finals held on historic Beale Street, and the opportunity
to compete for over $20,000 in cash and prizes at The Blues
Foundation's International Blues Challenge (IBC).
When it comes to blues music, Mojo Theory has a healthy
respect for its traditions and a desire for a future hand
in keeping the blues alive!
We love playing shows and enjoy any opportunity to share
our music. Anyone wanting to check us out can find us
playing all around Columbus and doing some traveling as
well.
